These parts work together to both pick up and separate sheets being fed into the scanner. Over time, they'll wear and cause paper feeding issues.This scanner has a maintenance counter that will prompt you to replace these parts when you reach 100,000 pages. Whether you've reached that number or not, you should reset the counter when you install the new kit. Replacement of this kit and resetting the counter is described in the User Guide under the heading of 'Maintenance'.
